I just got a Fuji Touring bike in a box and I decided I would try and put it together thinking that there would be assembly instructions inside as noted on the outside of the box. All I was found was owner's manual which is what I had already found online here:
http://www.fujibikes.com/usa/supportAs someone who has never put a bike together, this information leaves a lot left to experience (i.e. there are no explicit instructions).
The outside of the box said I would only need a flat and phillips screwdriver, a 15mm wrench, and 5mm and 6mm allen wrenches.
Reading through the manual makes me believe I should be using a torque wrench and following their generic chart (pic related).
I also read this thread where people were discussing torque wrenches and it sounds like for steel components (which I believe I have) it's not as critical to get the exact torque and you can go by feel.
How bad could I fuck things up if I don't get a torque wrench?
I'm planning on running to the hardware store this morning to pick up a standard 15mm wrench and hex keys since I don't already have a metric set. Is there anything else that I should consider?
