I recently discovered the Tucson streetcar. Even tho it's a rather short line it looks like a really solid tram system that serves an actual important transport corridor, nothing like the meme systems. In Europe a line like that would become a huge success so they'd start building more lines in no time. On the other hand, these desert cities are all spread out over huge areas with suburbs with low population density, which is typically more bus or light rail material. Is there a chance of these systems actually getting somewhere eventually?
