In my own city, the stations most are at ground level and you usually walk some stairs to get about a single storey high to cross the tracks. Longest I've walked down was in my trip to São Paulo though, all of the Yellow Line is some 30 meters below street level and some stations are just huge boreholes on the ground you can look all the way down into, you have to go through like 4 or 5 mezzanines to get to the platforms, no idea how many steps though. Now they wanna make Line 6 some 60 meters deep because REASONS.
I pity any of you guys who live in São Paulo and take L4 regularly, it shouldn't have to take 10 minutes of stairs just to go from gate to train, then again from train to exit.
