Be extremely conscientious and organised. A lot of people seem to do it on lazy/ wasteful/ messy spec and that's just horrible. You don't even have to not be a drug addict, just have some self respect. People think a car is a small space to live from and it's 'inevitable' their car is going to be messy and full of junk. They never know where anything is and their immediate environment is always depressing. Be anal and micro-organise everything. Be ruthlessly minimalist and don't keep junk. Keep everything clean and tidy. Go to scenic places and establish interesting campsites with structures you build. Keep velcro straps, tarps, bungey cords, zip ties, duct tape, hose clamps, rope, and not just for abducting schoolgirls, be creative and resourceful. Carrots, cabbage, brocolli, bags of rice, these keep for weeks refrigerated. Carry a lot of water.
When i travel out of a car i apply the same ethos from living on a bicycle for 4 months. A car is easy mode. If you just want to stay in a city, it will probably just be depressing poverty life. What's your situation op? Is this borne of desperation? Do you have much money? What car do you have?
This is probably not the right board, but im kinda interested.
