>>1502689>1x range and 2x range are currently the same with meme 1x casettes, but if you are on limited money you get that range with 2x and you pay 8x less, how is paying 8s more for same perfomance but with lower durability an advantage?.8x less? Same performance? Show me the 2 comparable groupsets with a 8x price difference.
>they shift the same, determining factor are gear jumps where 2x wins since smaller range casette=better smoother shiftingThis line right here is how I know you're either a roadie, ride one of those meme roadbikes or just ride like plain shit. You're delusional if you think you can shift through the gears quicker on a 2x than you can on the 1x.
>my point is more gears on the back are very sensible to dropout bending, less gears on the back, less tolerance in dropout paralelism is needed. another mechanical advatange for a part of the bike that gets bent easily. Then don't buy a bike with drop-outs made of cheese? I don't get why you're struggling with this.
>>1502711>I can not only reach, but maintain that speed on my touring bike with a basket, fenders, dynamo lights and 1x7x3 drivetrain. Is that a mountainbike? Do you jump it? Take it down trails? No? STFU.
>>1502757I had a unite components bashguard that exploded into itty-bitty pieces once made of """""engineering plastic""""" what wank.

Luddites: if 2x and 3x systems are so good why the fuck does no one use them? They're still made. Outside of the meme that is XC I have never seen a 2x or 3x system on a bike that isn't built to the lowest price possible.
