>>1206828Nah, the cables exited a little further up so they weren't in the way of my hands. I had cloth bartape at the time and attached the cables with twine, which was coated in shellac along with the tape. See pic for details.
That bartape lasted five years before it became unspeakably filthy - I replaced it this past winter but haven't taken any newer pics, also ran the cables the full length of the bar so that I could use pogies on that bike.
