The sad part is that on the most locks the lock part itself will give away with enough pull, so finding a good lever for twisting the lock is enough. That's what I caught both of the drunk idiots trying to do. As my bikes are worthless, I haven't bothered with a proper lock because haven't gotten hardened chain yet. Btw, with that, any cheap padlock will likewise give away much before the chain, if pounded with a big enough rock a few times.
This bad boy would set one back only about 110€, because it comes with classic half moon key. It is of course totally over kill for a bike lock, but their iconic brass padlock is very weak against blunt force)
I think in practice, one would need maybe 50€ lock for good safety against casual theft.
