It was Burlington Route's last scheme before the merger into BN in 1970 and was almost the scheme for the newly merged line but they decided to remove the white. Only a few locomotives received the hockey stick paint and most were repainted within a few years. Also the original BN paint was more lime-greenish than later paint jobs.
