let me get this straight: when sti breaks you lose all shifting functionality until you re-route yourself to a bike shop and pay them money to spend hours fixing it? because if a bar-end shifter breaks, well, you just set it to friction mode and carry on enjoying your life.
its not my business to speculate on what anyone is doing with their bike and you're not making arguing the case for bar-end shifters very difficult at all.
