>>1649940You can get some nice hybrids that lean more towards road bikes than say atb's, for example I bought a BMC Alpenchallenge, it's frame is based upon their road bike geometry, it's very light and fast enough but is also fine with fenders and racking and very comfortable, my commute takes me over gravel, cobbles and dirt as well as roads and the bike is great on all surfaces.
