i overestimated the error yesterday because the hoods weren't level (i had poor lighting in the room that i was working in)
from the two pairs that i have it seems that they're consistently inconsistent with the difference being about 5mm at the tip
they would be pretty much spot on if the reach could be adjusted so i will try to shim the right lever to give it less reach
my previous idea that the levers were drilled in different spots can probably be disregarded
the metal bands that clamp to the bar are pretty unevenly stamped, i'll probably see if i can cherrypick more even clamps off of some different levers
maybe the bars would have some asymmetry as well but i'm not sure
the ergonomics are excellent, in addition to the other positions you can get a very nice aero hoods position which can be difficult to achieve with entry level or vintage singlespeed levers (it depends on the handlebar as well)
