My budget was $5000 for the month. Gf only had about $4000. I would recommend this for any first time long distance bike tour. My first tour was 4 months around the entire western United States and cost about the same.
$2000 each for flights We did two one ways because we didn't want to be rushed. I wasn't sure if gf was going to want to quit or cut it short to Tokyo.
350 for that mobile hotspot.
Gf had to buy a new bike
Hotels for about a week total. Typhoons and gf crying.
Train tickets to get to Tokyo after bike broke.
I probably spent about 50 a day on food.
Some money for other fun stuff.
If I did it again I could spend less, but things pop up and it's good to have that money ready. First time travelling internationally. So you make a lot of mistakes. Buy stuff to expensive or out of panic. As you do more you get better. This tour I bought less stupid gear.
