>>1965560>None of them know anything about economicsSeriously. Even in this thread we have crying about America while comparing to world-class tourist destinations where simply having old buildings is a viable industry for the region.
Europeans have only been in the United States for about 400 years.
Apart from some 10,000 year old pueblos and pre-Columbian mounds there's no ancient architecture at all in the United States. Why even bother pretending like the US would ever even try to compete with fucking Italy on authentic ancient architecture?

>Better comparison would be picrel. No, that picture is just a standard luxury apartment building probably near some suburb of a large but otherwise unremarkable North American city.
>What do Americans do differently? It's designed to attract yuppies who want a bright, clean, modern condo/apartment willing to pay above-average rent for amenities. Interiors will be designed to optimize wow factor and look impressive on showings but will cut corners wherever possible on materials like flooring and cabinets. It looks like a fairly generic design meant to conform to modern fashions. And in my experience it's successful at its intended purpose of attracting that demographic.
As for the specific architectural features you're coming off like a serious try-hard who went on a date with an architect 3 years ago and fancy yourself an expert.
