I know plenty of guys who bike for commuting but would drive an hour outside the city to hit up trails they haven't visited before. Even then, there would be a dedicated bunch of people who'd leisure drive. In Ocean City, there's some dudes who actually want to drive at like 5 mph in a long ass line to show off their cars for the one day year they can do so. I think people tend to idealize a car as a tool they can choose to do things with and not necessarily something they have to rely on to do basic tasks.
