Also, if you ride a forward position, running drop is not particularly difficult, I climb in the hoods, descend in the drops. Not like gravel roads are that rough.
But the type of riding I do on it is basically winter commuting (it gets fenders and 35c studded tires), gravel riding, and popping wheelies. Taking it on some single track at high speeds is fun, too, but we don't have much of that around here.
