That stuff is just carbon fibres embedded into a resin system and baked under heat and vacuum.
At room temperature it can of course still be deformed minimally, especially if you mount a tire on it at 120psi and put a lot of tension onto it, along with highly tensioned spokes. And I’m not talking about forces that would severely damage the compound.
This also wasn’t what I wrote earlier above, I was talking about trueing and the advantages of style of inwards nipples on that shamal rim.
Pic related is a very low shallow rim profile wheel which feels softer on the drive side, which outwards point nipples inside the rim body.
The wheels like shamal will be much stiffer due to the high profile rim, and will have also a high spoke tension cause they are still manually trued.
