>>1643679Look at this shit. I cleaned it and degreased it, although there was no grease. I'd imagine this thing has been tight for over 10 years. The insides was full of some rusty grease that I wiped clean. It looks better now, but the bearings on the other side of the crank are loose ones so fitting this back in is going to be insane because I can't get the other side to budge at all.
Also some metal ring was broken. Just snapped in 2 places. I don't know what that metal piece is and I'm sure it's vital in keeping the bearings in place and something, but I have no idea where to even begin to find a replacement.
All I wanted to do was remove the crank wobble that was insanely excessive to the point it was affecting shifting. This wasn't even the main issue I was going to fix which was adding and cleaning the old grease from the back cassette. This crank was supposed to be an easy fix but now my arms are fucking sore from trying to force it by hand alone. I've given up for the night.
