>>1382752I like that, the front derailleur mount on the seattube is something that gets in the way on these newer suspension designs, giving up front shifting should get you *all* the benefits of not having a FD, it’s the next logical step up from “just unscrew the derailleur”. Yes I understand this applies to the stupid proprietary chainguides coming out and replacing ISCG mounts too, but it’s still a legitimate reason to remove unneeded mounts. Instead of a FD you could always get the ol hammerschmidt for the front anyways (even though it needs ISCG mounts), the high gear sucks away your watts like a cheap whore but the low gear is perfectly normal and efficient for your climbing.
