>>1773045I'd build a massive dam across the St. Lawrence River just East of Montreal stretching from the Green Mountains in Vermont all the way to the Highlands of Quebec raising the water level of everything behind it to the same level as Lake Huron, creating the world's largest freshwater lake. Sure it would have the downside of drowning the Niagara Falls, but it would also rid us of many cities like Montreal, Detroit, Toronto, Ottowa and Cleveland, so it would be a net positive. It would be easier to keep clear than tbe existing canal systems, provide a vast source of Fresh water to replace the Ogalalla Aquifer and provide Vermont with better sea access.
