The nut in the brake pad isn't perfectly centered laterally, and when they are upside down that gives me an extra millimeter of reach - that's all I need for them to reach the rim. I have experienced no issues when braking.
>>1738652Thanks moi8. I'm not so worried abot someo(((n)))e stealing it because my bikes are rarely kept locked outside or unattended. The original paint was too damaged and I really liked the idea of making a rat style fixed. It's clear coated so it won't rust any further, but I keep an eye on it and apply nail polish or mineral oil depending on where the coat has chipped or been scraped away.
