I'm a hardcore weight autist (its fun for me to minmax my bike) and the weightweenies forum turned me on to this stuff because it weighs so damn little. Obviously provides no dampening but I wear gel gloves and have gel bar inserts at key points as a long distance comfort. Yet to wear it out but the forums suggest it can easily be fixed at holes by placing a new piece over, and somehow the black doesn't fade in sun. Synthetic so should dry faster than cotton, and i think its nylon so not too bad smelling and holds very little water (it might actually be polypropylene or something which is hydrophobic, until its coated in hand oils)
