Earlier this year Harrisburg passed legislation which would strip the power of the local DA to a special state-appointed DA who would prosecute any crimes committed on SEPTA property to cut red tape between SEPTA Transit Police and the prosecution of crime. This bill was majority supported by both state Republicans and Democrats alike,
Philadelphia itself has recently elected a mayor, Cherelle Parker, who has promised to bring back stop-and-frisk, and has talked about potentially bringing in PA State Police to help patrol SEPTA's transit system in the city, as Philly deals with a shortage of police due in large part to poor pay compared with regional peers (unrelated to any "defunding," Philadelphia police were never defunded).
Again, you don't want answers. You're happy with being a useless crank who thinks politics is a zero-sum game between polar extremes.
