because their fixie faggotry was based originally on a rejection of other kinds of cycling and a view that what they were doing was original and uniquely cool and actually pragmatic too.
i find fixies ongoingly endearing because i first rode them after getting into road cycling and mtbing and just riding etc etc etc so it's just another fun discipline, with many limitations, sure, but those limitations can be fun too and i never gave up on other bikes or thought them inferior in any way. It's just all forms of cycling and different things are fun.
whereas typical fixiefags like you build this bike exclusionary cult around the idea so that all inevitably crumbles around you.
