Im on my first academy year and it sucks. I never dreamed of sailing; I got in to see whats all about and to make money.
Since it will take me 5 years to get my first job as a 3rd officer im thinking about pursuing a career in programming / IT. Im autistic so it fits me more. I cant imagine mysef working hard for months at sea and I figured I dont need a lot of money anyways.
I'd like to know how is the routine like on those smaller supply boats and tugs. The only thing that is holding me back from quitting this college is the fear that I have a distorted notion of the lifestyle at sea. I've been searching about it quite a lot tho.
