>>1004351I've tried that a couple times but it's too narrow for me, the steering gets twitchy and it makes breathing more difficult. I'd suggest giving something like
>>1004515 a go, works great for me in terms of width and I can still reach the brakes and shifter.
>>1004388He was talking about people with improperly setup drop bars because they either can't handle being low or feel like they have to stay in the drops all the time instead of moving to the hoods.
Also whilst drop bars may have an ideal positional range flat bars have a much greater range, they can be really upright or you can drop it low with a small frame/short headtube/flipped and slammed stem.
>>1004395Handling is superior to drop bars. The lack of hand positions with a bare flat bar is a valid point but and easily remedied one.
>>1004402If set up to do so you can still get pretty damn aero on flat bars. Typically that's not the case but if you still want to go fast but don't want drop bars for some reason it is possible.
>>1004445I wonder how many other people actually know this. Having the forearms level is more aerodynamic, it's just harder to hold with the elbows bent. Also if people really cared so much about being aero I don't get why they wouldn't just use aero bars (if they don't race, I'm assuming that shit isn't allowed outside of TT).
