>>1483246the jockey wheels are nylon so can take a fair amount of abuse in terms of solvents
only thing is that the cheep ones use a Bronze bushing and that requires a little re lucubration after it has been cleaned
the metal of the bushing is porous and oil soaks into it over time
contact with strong solvents will remove the oil and it takes a while to get oil back into the metal
the wheels can be taken out for cleaning with a 4mm alen key
but are much harder to get back in as you have to have the chain slack and keep the plates lined up with each other
try removing them and cleaning them one at a time so at least the cage is always somewhat lined up by at least one bolt
also the top and bottom wheel may be slightly different so keep all their parts separate
while everything is apart you can check if the hole in the cog for the bushing is oval or not
only the really worn out ones go oval and loose fitting
