>>1969816>NetherlandsBroadly and from memory, once an authority (municipality or national government) decides that a right-of-way will pass through your property you have three options: take the money they offer and sell the land, build whatever they want to build without selling the land (extremely rare), or go to court and argue that the ROW they came up with is poorly planned and could be changed such that it no longer passes over your land. Winning that court case is (very) rare but not impossible. Most people will take the money, as the price they offer is quite good, so those who refuse do it out of sentimental value towards the land.
