>>1879981>people who spout solar this and wind power that have no actual understanding of how little power they actually generate for their given sizei mean, wind energy is currently (as of 23:05 this evening) contributing just over 66% of great britain's domestic energy supply; followed by nuclear (16%) and natural gas (just under 11%), the rest being hydro, biomass, and 'other'. in fact, looking back a little, wind energy has been the predominant energy source in england, wales and scotland since just before christmas. my first reaction was 'what the fuck it's not been *that* windy', but, of course it's mostly piped in from gigantic offshore farms.
