>>1851292>>1851290this is foolish. i miss an engine bay with room to work, but i would argue that the primary reason cars having gotten so complicated is safety and efficiency regulations (which, despite being a knuckledragging petrolhead i am not against) whereas the increasing cost and complication of bicycle technology is a pure function of the market and the transition of bicycles from a necessary functional commodity to a luxury commodity.
as people on this board are (rightly) fond of repeating, bicycles are a solved technology, whereas cars are not, from any number of points of view--economic, technological (efficiency/climate change), urban planning, at least 3-4 other Important Things. this comparison does not hold water
