Plus the biggest advantage (a light cassette) is fucking $300 for the top spec lightweight cassette which is barely lighter than an XX01 12-spd cassette, the lower tier cassettes might as well be 75%-working GX eagles with that kind of weight.
I want the lightweight cassette but I don’t want to spend 300 fucking bucks on it, and I’m not feeling the “nine speeds with 12spd chain means less work!” marketing they’re pushing so hard.
A 11-50 cassette that slides onto HG hubs? Yes please, but nothing else is that special here, honestly I’d rather bolt up my SRAM X9 9-speed and push the limits of that long cage with the biggest gear range I can use, I’m sure a $30 11-42 9spd can’t be that much worse than a $300 11-50 9spd
