>>1377350>>1377361I'll be spending the day tomorrow at an empty parking lot practicing all this, maybe skidding will have to wait then
>No! Stay with the clips and straps.I think you misunderstood, I have toe clips like the ones on the left and ordered the ones on the right. I'm not planning on having no foot retention, obviously. I just think it may be more comfortable
>>1377361>Really? REALLY? You've been riding your whole life but you don't know how to use a front brake?I meant it feels different on a fixed gear bike. Earlier I got to a pedestrian crossing (visible from way ahead) and unconsciously just slowed down with my feet. Then I pressed the brake because usually I'd press the brake on a geared bike but it just felt weird. It didn't help that I was sort of bouncing up and down from the unexpected rotation of the pedals once I started slowing down the back wheel. I might have just misjudged the braking distance and maybe that's why it felt like that - would you normally use your front brake in that scenario or no? Also, I fitted the brake on the right hand side because I figured since it's the only one I'd be more used to it. Horrible mistake because it turns out I'm mostly on autopilot when on a bike and I never really remembered it was the front rake. It's on the left now, lesson learned.
