Or, $1050 on an FX4 for a rigid hybrid that light.
They don't even make a suspension hybrid down to that weight. A $1250, 1x11 Dual Sport 4 is exactly 1kg heavier.
and that's comparing medium size bikes with the Marin which is large. This Marin has no real effort made for weight weenieism, many low/mid-range parts, and cost me less than $250.
