>>1423089The real complaint I have about low end mech disk brakes is that if you don't have them set up well they can bend your rotor, and thus require competent setup the first time. But then they're good otherwise and adjustment is super easy. Having had to learn both from scratch, on my own, Canti brakes have a LOT more moving parts that you can fuck up and they're way more fragile in general. I don't expect someone to be able to fix cantis road or trailside after a fall and I would much rather hobble home/to a bike shop with disk rub than ride with nonfunctioning cantis that risk fucking up the rim at best and not working at all at worst..
