>>1113850i'm going to toss out an unpopular opinion since it seems like money might be an issue and if you are just getting into it $2-3k seems like a crazy amount to spend on a new bike... especially if you arent sure you are really going to like riding. Aside from used bikes you can find much cheaper but still good quality bikes at stores like performance bicycle. Brands like fuji make a pretty good bang for your buck, something in the $500 range that has a decent groupset and the bike is well built enough that its not falling apart like a walmart bike. I have a scattante cyclocross from them and its still working good even after the crashes its had... although it is heavier. pic related... so thats another possibility for you anon. Or you might find a deal like I was able to with my cannondale, a bikeshop was going out of business. I got a $1700 bike for $1100 after taxes.
