But you can shave weight off by making a few small changes, I built picrel up for a net spend of about $150, the original bike weighed just over 13kg, but I sold off the original stem, bars, seatpost and saddle, wheelset and tyres (which all went for much more than I paid for the bike by the way due to them being hard to come by for those who need them, and more than covered the purchase of lighter replacement parts)
The bike now weighs 10.75 kg. Sure, it's a Tange ultimate ultralight frame which is one of the lightest steel frames you can get, but it's still steel as are the forks, everything else is post/bars/stem are based on ritchey logic steel tubing, again silly light and super strong and the groupset is much better than anything you could buy now for under $1500
