I’d like some career advice from you guys. I did read the sticky and I have some followup questions.
Im American, 25, been a Field Service Engineer (basically traveling factory maintenance) for 2 years. I work hard and Im good at it but Im ready for a new job. I have an associates in automotive technology from tech school. Last year I made $65k.
I would be interested in being a ships engineer.
>Would I make more money than I do currently to start with? How much could I be making in 2 years? Would i ever make 6 figures?
>What would a career path look like? Could I start in an engine room or would I be a deckhand first?
>In 5 years could I get a position in a shipyard or for a ferry company where im home every night and could start a family? Would I make 6 figures doing that after awhile?
>How would I get started? Searching QMED on Indeed shows a lot of jobs that require experience.
Any advice would be appreciated!
