On a flat road it doesn't matter much since you're not going to floor it so everyone falls over, but on hills it's really noticeable how a diesel bus struggles to accelerate compared to a trolley.
Trolleybuses are weird as fuck. They're huge but practically silent, so they can surprise you if they approach slowly. Also they're huge but they can take off on hills with very little effort. It really feels like you're on some kind of futuristic hover-mobile, and not a bus. Much more so than a tram, and I'm a huge sucker for trams ffs.
I remember riding a trolleybus in Mexico City, and they were like 30 years old and totally fucked up, but you get on and he overtakes all the other little microbuses and whatnot. They've made like semi-BRT trolleybus lines, pretty based.
Trolleybuses are full of win.
