A large open space inside can be converted for use for events, concerts by the city orchestra and so on. For all intents and purposes, this is a combination factory, restaurant, business park, dealership, museum, concert hall and park.
The thing is a tourist attraction, and the whole point of it is to have West German investment deep inside East Germany.
The factory is, however, a final assembly plant, so loud tools are forbidden, meaning that all the parts have to be brought to the factory from elsewhere.
