Whelp, almost finished, I hit a speed bump when I realized I'd need one of those cable retainers or whatever for the cantilever and U-brakes this bike is fitted for. Other than that it's done, the rear mech needs a bit more adjustment though.
My father donated the shifters and handlebar - the shifters got sticky and the previous bike they and the handlebars were donated from was basically trashed, so he handed those to me and I sorted it out. The wheelset was gotten off a guy that basically fixes up bikes from the scrapyard. the rear derailleur is an old deore XT that was donated because they thought the coil spring was broken, turned out it just needed to be reassembled properly. The front derailleur and front brake are original shimano Deore parts that were on the frame to begin with. The rear brake from a different guy who thought a spring was broken.
