The lead time for a Domane AL 3 is about 2 months, whereas Emondas aren't available until early next year. I'm a size 52 so I have to order them in via my local Trek store because they only stock 52s in the more expensive sizes.
I'm gonna be placing my order for my custom Emonda in September (basically everything but the wheels and seat post, switching them to carbon because from what I've read those two parts just weigh it down unecessarily), but Trek require a 20% deposit which I don't currently have. But after that you pay it at your own pace with no time limit.
Once I get the Emonda the AL 3 will just become my commuter bike.
