Why do I keep getting punctures here? I don't even get to ride the fucking bike.
My first guess is the spoke nipples. On the rim, which has rimtape, they sit quite proud. On the old tubes there was bumps where the rubber stretched.
So I put some gorilla tape over the rims near the valve hole to provide some more cushion. Brand new inner tube, pumped up to lowest recommended pressure on tire, and within 5 minutes it popped.
What gives? I looked at the tape and no pokies anywhere. Should I redo the whole rim with gorilla tape? Or is there a better product I could use?
Additionally, these are 20x1.9 inch tires for a Dahon Folding bike. The pressure range is 80-100 PSI, which seems insane. Is the problem that I'm just overpressurizing the tubes perhaps?
As of now the rear tire/tube is mounted in a similar fashion and sitting at 60 psi. I'm praying it doesn't pop so I can fucking ride this damn bike
