I think that if someone wants something, they should pay for it themselves. I think its unfair to take money away from someone who earned it, and give it to someone who didn't just because "they want it really bad".
Comparing transit and parks to suburbs is utter retardation. Suburbs are extremely wasteful just to serve a few people.
Transit serves a lot of people and outputs a minuscule amount of waste. Same for parks. You can't tell someone to 'get off my lawn' at the park. Its for everyone.
