It's alright but it doesn't really clamp firmly enough to be useful. I didn't really find myself using the extra hand positions much in any case. The only one that was kind've nice was the little hooks on the sides - you can hook your pointer fingers over them while riding on the tops and for some reason it's pretty comfy.
Your seatpost is an interesting solution to the road/tri fit problem. If you are considering racing with it, you should be aware that it breaks the "5 cm rule" which requires that the nose of your saddle stays at least 5cm behind your bottom bracket. You can seek a morphological exemption, but there is another rule which states that your aerobar extensions cannot reach further than 75cm beyond your bottom bracket. You are allowed to get an exemption for one rule or the other, not both. So your bike in it's present form is not race legal. I'm not sure anyone will care, unless you are placing rather well. But I'm not sure they won't.
