OK, that was a little unfair to Antrim town, but it's not a great town. The town centre is tiny and there is more outside of Antrim itself than there is in the centre. At least you're close to the Belfast International Airport (was renamed to Westeros Airport last winter...)
Antrim Bus and Rail Centre sounds like a great integrated transport hub, but it really isn't. It has a large amount of bus routes, but the trains only going to Belfast and to Derry~Londonderry, and it's one train an hour except during the morning rush hour when it's a train every half hour to Belfast, and there is a train on the hour to Derry~Londonderry and a train on the half-hour to Coleraine.
Antrim also is a passing point on a single track line, which is a woeful thing to think about. Plus there is an abandoned line connecting Antrim to Lisburn, which was last used in the early 2000s because the viaduct at Monkstown was under construction. Antrim is where they keep the ballast though.
North of Antrim is Ballymena, the heroin capital of the UK and south of Antrim is Mossley West, a nowhere (which isn't a fair description because it's really more a park and ride facility now).
