In theory this is probably the best possible way to combine cable and hydraulic systems on a bike, but they had problems with the master cylinders and these were always a pain to work on. The gains in braking performance were offset by the problems introduced by needless complexity.
On that note, every time something fancy and new like this version of Dura Ace comes out, I'm reminded how nice it is to be easily contented with simple bikes. I like fancy bikes too, but I'm glad I don't feel any kind of craving or obligation to chase the latest and greatest.
