>>1858892>the aviation communityhonestly I have no idea how you came to respect such a huge and banal group. Now that there is demand, there is a new generation of career switchers. The aviation community is basically an outgrowth of that commercial travel industry.
There is practically no condescension about the quality of the equipment, in any pursuit. Including cars. You can see people who own million dollar titanium gas guzzlers every saturday at the karting track.
But you're not talking about flying, but rather the maintenance and upkeep of the technology.
>>1858966>Yeah that’s cringe to some people and I understand that a lot of people might not like that and even despise that.I never talked about aviation because R/C was seen as a nerdy hobby you didn't talk about it. Soaring was seen as a fun outdoor adventure sport analogous to horseback riding, which didn't fit my image. So I just talked about other people's hobbies, ie MMOs.
the entire 'aviation style' is paid for by airline tickets, and the travel industry, and it has nothing to do with actually flying. there are niche groups, like airshow pilots, who subsist on ads for motor oil and erectile meds. Also, they like to fix things. You would probably fit in with them, if you can buy a pitts and leave it in your garage with the cowling off. Just keep fixing things and you'll never even have to fly it or buy insurance etc.
>>1862617The Sk8 hi? At least the sole hasn't peeled off the uppers like they do on my Converse. Also, they have nice cushioning (I got the pros). I glued leather to the outsoles and only use them as dance shoes. Maybe they suck but they probably don't. Otherwise they have a chunkier silhouette silhouette compared to normal sneakers.
