so if infrastructure for bicycles is often retarded, like in the two examples i've given, why am i obliged to follow it and to follow road rules? Why should I follow a social contract if i'm given a shitty ones? It's neither safe nor efficient.
And if i do ride on the road there, at the pace of traffic, (this isn't a hypothetical) drivers shout at me to get in the bike lane. Can you still blame cyclists breaking rules on driver animosity? Cyclists a:having bike lanes built, and b: not using them is one of the main complaints from drivers.
