Because normies all think that when planes crash it's like in the movies, where the plane is cruising at 31,000' and suddenly all the engines explode, and everyone can only helplessly watch as the plane falls out of the sky like a rock with pilots usually panicking and yelling some shit like "MAYDAY MAYDAY WE'RE GOING DOWN I CAN'T CONTROL IT" or even more hilariously getting their company-issued parachutes and jumping ship. They don't realize that most accidents occur during takeoff and landing where they'd be dead before they even realize what's going on, and where an egrrss system like this would be completely irrelevant.
