And it reinforces the benefit of click-stand type devices, they are much lighter than normal stands, they are not attached to the bike, so no fitting/unfitting or damage to paint, they have no real moving parts so reliability is infinitely improved, as is the lack of maintenance. The only drawback is the time it takes you to deploy it, but it's just a few seconds, so unless you are stopping and dismounting with a load every few minutes that isn't really a drawback at all when balanced against the lightness, lack of maintenance, reduction in potential points of failure and lack of damage to the frame.
So, in a nutshell - the only sensible option, unless you are delivering telephone directories door to door, is a tent pole style 'click-stand'.
