I love both my road and my mountain bike a lot and i love riding them bith a lot as well. In the end the only reason I like riding my mtb more is that I don't have to deal with fucking cagers nearly as much, or people in generL. However mtb is less about firness and more about skill, and I'm more fit than I am skillfull so proportional to other riders I am superior at riding my road bike competitively. As community goes I think roadbikers tend to be more serious but in both cases it's a mixed bag of great guys and total shit heads.
Wouldn't trade either bike for the other the solution is to have two bikes and enjoy two disciplines.
